What is an Event QR Code?
An Event QR Code is a scannable barcode that contains calendar event data (encoded as a vCalendar or iCalendar string). When a user scans the QR code with their smartphone camera, their phone automatically parses the data and prompts them to save the event directly to their native calendar app.
Why Use QR Codes for Events?
Event QR codes bridge the gap between physical marketing and digital calendars. By printing these codes on flyers, posters, wedding invitations, or conference badges, you eliminate the friction of attendees having to manually type out event dates and times. It drastically increases event attendance and engagement.
How to Generate a Calendar QR Code
Fill out your event details including the title, start/end dates, location, and a brief description. As you type, the QR code on the right updates instantly. Once your details are finalized, click "Download PNG" to save the high-resolution QR code for your print or digital marketing materials.

Frequently Asked Questions
In "iCal Event" mode the QR code encodes a compact vEvent (BEGIN:VCALENDAR…END:VCALENDAR) string. When scanned on iOS or Android, the system offers to add the event directly to the calendar app. In "URL" mode the QR simply encodes the URL you provide — useful for linking to an Eventbrite, Luma, or Google Meet page.
Error Correction Level H (High) allows up to 30% of the QR code data to be restored even if the code is partially obscured or damaged. If you add a logo overlay in the centre (which covers roughly 15-20% of the code), Error Correction Level H ensures the remaining data is still enough to reconstruct the full QR payload.
Yes. Upload a PNG or JPG logo using the Logo Upload field. The tool draws the QR code to an HTML5 Canvas and then composites your logo in the centre. Always use Error Correction Level H when adding logos — this is enforced automatically in this tool.
For reliable scanning, the printed QR code should be at least 2.5 cm × 2.5 cm (about 1 inch × 1 inch) at its final print size. If printed on a banner or poster, larger is always better. Download the PNG at its full resolution (300px) for print quality.
